Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream Speech” on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 1963. In the speech, he highlighted his “ideal” America and his dream for the future.

Do you have a dream for your life? Do you have a dream or hope for the world or the future? In a brief paragraph, highlight your dream.

I have a dream to do something that nobody else in my family has ever done. I want to be a Licensed Practical Nurse. My dream is to work in a dotors office, a job that last from nine until five. I will not have to work on the weekends any more and I can finally spend time with my family.
I will have a job that I will love.

  2.    James Walden:

My dream for my life is the typical American version with a few twists and turns. Number one for me is to have a decent education and career. Both of those go hand in hand it seems. I would like to be a superviser or production manager at my job. That would mean mad cash. Several hundred thousand smackaroos a year. That would be pretty freeking cool too this “good ol boy” from Ellijay!

  3.    Cheri German:

My dream for my life is to become a great medical office assistant. I worked for a physcian in the past. It was the best job I ever had, other than being a mom. I know I can make this dream come true with continuing my education and keeping a postive attitude towards this dream.

  4.    Lacey Nelson:

My dream for my future is to be all that I can be!!! My real dream is becoming a nurse and actually doing something with my life instead of hanging around Ellijay working in a restaraunt my whole life. I want to work in the ER because you always have something different to be doing instead of the same old thing. Becoming a nurse is my main goal in life right now. After I fulfill this dream I will then start on another dream I have and thats having a family of my own.

She is now long gone, and i know what it take to become a true male nurse. It would only be right for me to step up to the plate and finish what she started so many years ago.

My dream would have to be to be all that I can be and try very hard in college to pass and go on to be a LPN.I would love to work in a community that I love and people that I love to work with. Trying to help people is what I live for and I hope that I can achieve my dream very soon.If my nursing doesn’t work out then I would love to become a teacher and work with children and try and help them learn academics.

  9.    Evelyn Sandiford:

Yes, I do have a dream. My dream is to go to college. I want a degree in nursing, particularly obstetrical nursing. To be a part of something as magical as the birth of a child, will be so rewarding. I am no longer just dreaming this dream. I am now working towards that dream becoming a reality.

    Journal Entry #2

My dream is to finish my education at Appalachian Tech and continue toward my goal of a career in drafting. I would also like to one day be able to get out of Jasper and experience a new world where I have the money and time to do whatever I choose. Of course, I would also like to raise a family and teach my children all the things my parents taught me. I think that my dream is within reach and that with hard work and self-discipline I can realize my goals in life.

I have a dream of first graduating from college and then going on to do clinical work for a doctor’s office, more than likely outside of Ellijay. I would like to work for a bigger hospital or doctor’s office. Right now I am in the Medical Assisting program and my boyfriend is a firefighter and going to school to be an E.M.T, so we share about the same common interest. Then my dream will be to settle down with my better half and have a family together.

  13.    Robert Bryant:

My dream is finish school and get a really good job. I want to have a nice house, and a nice truck. I am going to work really hard and move up fast. I dream that i will have my own shop one day.

  14.    Sam Reeves:

My dream is the same dream that the Founding Fathers established two hundred years ago. I simply want to preserve my own heritage and let everyone else do as they wish with their’s. I dream to build a garage suitable for a sucessful mechanic and establish a suitable future for my children. As a family man I enjoy spending time with my family and my dreams are with them.

  15.    Nancy Eggersdorf:

When I was growing up, the world was so different from the way it is today. It was about forty years ago, but in a way it seems like yesterday. Things were much simpler then, and although we have some conveniences today that I really appreciate, I miss that time. I guess my dream would be for us to get back to a point where we could trust each other; a place where we could feel safe sending our children to school and not have to worry about someone molesting, or even killing them. We seem to recognize the benefits of all the advancements we’ve made, but ignore the negative effects they’ve had on families, communities, the country, and the world. Technology is amazing, but sometimes I miss the good ol’ days.

  16.    jesse pruitt:

I have a dream that one day I will own a house on 100+ acres and have a lot of farm animals so that the land tax want be so bad. And to have the perfect family with the white picked fench.

  17.    Brittnay Heaton:

My dream for life is to be happy and contente in anything and everything I do in life. I’m going to school for cosmetology. But if I feel that does not make me happy I’ll try something else. My dream for life is to find something that truly makes me happy. No matter how many mistakes I make on the way.

  18.    Wendy Parker:

I have a dream of becoming financially self sufficient. My ideal is to have as much financial security as possible. I do not want to be rich, although if God were to bless me with riches I wouldn’t complain! I want to be able to pay the bills and still have money left over to enjoy simple pleasures. My children want to go to college and I would like to make their dreams come true. I believe that every woman should have the ability and means to support herself. Although I am getting a late start toward that goal, I will get there!

  20.    Michael Gramling:

I have a dream that I will live a simple life. I know that is near impossible, but it is my overall goal. I plan ahead to cover financial issues, and I try to avoid things that just don’t feel right. I want to get married, live in a neighboorhood, have a business, and raise my children who will get straight A’s and want to be doctors.

  21.    Brittney Jenks:

My personal expectations for myself are set fairly high. I hope to one day become a doctor. Before doing this, I must obtain a very good education. After receiving my education, I want to land a secure job and then decide to have children. I am working on paying for my own home and hopefully by the time I am thirty-two, I will have it paid off.
