Work Ethics Posting #323
You work on a marketing team. At your organization, it is vital that all employees openly submit and discuss new ideas. In thirty-five words or less, answer the following questions.
(1). As a team member, how can you foster this behavior in others?
(2). As a team member, what behavior would prevent other individuals from offering new ideas.
In order to promote team behavior, I feel that it is best to lead by example. By discussing new ideas, it shows others the way to be a team player.
I feel that team bahavior should be encouraged by including all employs with a suggestion box for new idea. Following through with the ideas and suggestions that the employs make. Have team meetings for the employees to discuss their ideas. Other employees should not discriminate others for their ideas.
I think that new ideas are always good. Sometimes things need a change every now and then. If you keep things the same all the time then the team/teammates are going to get tired of doing the same old things.
I believe you set an example by discussing your ideas and suggest that others discus their ideas also.
1. When a problem pops up, or when a process needs improved, I go to a team member and ask him/her what they think about the problem, and see what they say. If they are correct them they get a pat on the back, if they are wrong then they need to know WHY they are wrong and why my idea is better. 2. Behaviors that would discourage open dialog would be when a team member offers an idea, and somebody shoots it down without even considering whether the idea was good or bad. Also, putting people down, calling names, and acting like a know it all hurts the team effort also.
To promote team behavior I think you should help them out in any way you can teach them by showing them how to do it. By telling them what they can and cannot do and help them achieve new things.
As a team member I would make sure to submit my ideas. I would also encourage others by asking for their opinions. I would make sure that I didn’t discourage others on my team by reacting negatively to their suggestions.
I would start by sharing an idea, then encourage others to share. Criticism would prevent team members from opening up about their ideas.
If you are open to new ideas it helps other to feel comfortable. If you are comfortable on a team than it is easier to share ideas. If you stay positive it also helps the team to stay positive.
When you are on a team, thats is exaactly what it is. Team work. You should openly discuss things with everyone. If someone is not openly volunteering to participate you should ask them questions or for there opinion. When you talk about your ideas and opinions others usually follow.
As a team member i would have everybody write down on a sheet of paper what they would like to contribute and express their ideas and that no one person should feel left out or feel ashamed about their ideas. Not concidering someones ideas may lead to others not willing to offer their ideas. You should set an axample toward your team.
You just need to tell your team to speak out. They are just as important as everybody else. If they dont speak out then thay must not have any ideas.
As a team member i would have everybody write down on a sheet of paper what they would like to contribute and express their ideas, by using discussion and by labs, people are more willing to open up and express on how to contribute to the team.
It’s good for a team to work as one. If we are going to share idea’s, We as a team must show positive feeling, and be open to new ideas. Criticsm is not aloud! Everyone idea’s will be taking very strongly, and will be open to consideration. Keep in mind, there is no “I” in team.
The behavior of others is often a reflection of your own actions. If you become involved in open discussions, then you incourage others to do the same.Where as,if you refuse to discuss new ideas, you may discourage others from becoming involved.
I would get my workers to write me a letter and tell me ideas to show there feelings. This way people will all not be afraid to express the way they feel. People will work alot better if they feel like they are contributing to something.
In order to have an “open door policy,” it must be encouraged. Most people do not just come out and express their opinions, good or bad, to all of their co-workers and supervisors. To continue to have people speak up and voice their opinion, others need not to criticize negatively. Constructive criticism is fine, but too much can cause doubts in confidence and make someone less likely to voice their opinion.
I feel encourageing the team and expressing ideas yourself well make others feel comforable to express their ideas. Being loud or judgeing others well only make them feel uncomforable and not want to express their ideas.
I would open up the meeting by making my suggestions; and then asking someone else if they thought that was a good idea. One thing that might hinder other employees from participating would be that I would be the only one who ever made any suggestions. I didn’t give someone else to submit their idea.
Employees may be encouraged to offer ideas if they know they will be met with open minds. No one likes to be continuously criticized and to have their ideas shot down. It is very important to be congratulated for your good contributions.
I think that like a baseball or basketball team, emplyees sould be able to work as one. Emplyees to be capable of working well with each other sould treat there teammates or fellow emplyees as they would treat their family. Ideas ever one has his or her own idea like they have their own beliefs and I think no one can change that so in saying all this don’t but someone elses ideas down.
Encourage your teammates to discuss new ideas. If some one speaks up, let them know that was a good idea. Ask them question to get them to open up. Try to pull ideas from them, just to get the conversation flowing freely. Don’t put down anyones idea. If you do then all the other teammates will not talk, in fear that you might think there idea is not right. Don’t let a procrastinator, or a complainer try to control the discusion It could lead to the others joining in on how they might feel.
As a team leader I would not ask something of my team memebers that I would not do myself, and I would also expect the same respect. I would let other team members suggest things that make the company and/or the team better, I am open to new ideas that work.
