Work Ethics Posting #525
Barbara has a poor self image, and Judy has a positive self image. Picture the differences in the two workers. In thirty-five words or less, answer the following questions:
(1). Between the two individuals discussed, what differences would you see in the work methods?
(2). What physical differences would you see between the two individuals? For example, which individual is more likely to smile when greeting people?
If Barbara has a poor self image, her work ethics will be poor. Work ethics reflect on your image. Judy would be the one to smile because the image of her self is better. Self image makes you feel good or bad, depending on the image you have of yourself.
Well I think that if Barbara has a poor self image then she will not attract customers and try and help them she will be shy and laid back. I think Judy would be the one to greet and help out the customers and make them feel like they are appreciated.
Some people put on a really good show meaning they hide things very well. One may have a better self image then the other one but either way it really shouldn’t effect the way they work. The pysical difference would show through more then anything because one may walk with her head high and the other may walk looking down at her feet.
Since, Judy is a happy camper. She will attract more positive help and feeling’s from her co-workers and have greater work methods. On the other hand. Barbara, with her pore work mothods and low self-esteam. Witch, is not attractive in a working environment, will not meet her co-worker, “judy” mothods.
Barbara will be less likely to excel at her job. Barbara’s standards are lower. Barbara will walk head down; not making eye contact. Judy will excel at her job. She will be more willing to take risks professionally. Judy is probably very outgoing and friendly.
First Barbara would not communicate as easily as Judy. Judy would be more likely to work with others and do group activities. Barbara on the other hand would not be nearly as comfortable in those situations. Judy would smile and seem happy, Barbara would stay to her self, rarely smile or talk.
Barbara, having a poor self image, may not be efficient and remain to herself.Judy would progress in the same areas because she has a positive self image and be out going toward others.
When someone has a poor self image, their work habits will reflect the way that they see themselves. Someone with a poor self image will usually show poor posture and a lack of self respect.
When a person has poor self esteem problems, there work is usually the first to suffer. They have decsion problems, freeze at the wrong time and generally feel at disease with themselves. 2.Judy would be the more likly one to smile in an interview and walk aroung with a smile and feel like she KNOWS what to do.
Barbara might be easily distracted by her thoughts of her imperfections, on the other hand, Judy would not have anything hindering her from giving one hundred and ten percent! Judy would probably stand with good posture, be more entergetic, and her body language would be happy and nice; however, Barbara would probably look down alot, rarely smile, and feel discomfo
Judy would be more confident in her abilities; Barbara may doubt the quality of her work. Judy would also be more likely to smile when greeting people; Barbara would probably avoid eye contact.
Someone who has a poor self image will not work well around people. Someone with a good Self image will do a good job cause they have lots of confidence.
Barbara, with her poor self image is probably not a good worker. definitly not a nice smiling person to be greeting people. On the other hand Judy would be a good person to greet people. If you have a good self image of yourself it shows, it can also make other people feel better. Judy would be a great person to greet people.
Barbera would be the one to have the poor work skills, she may not have good posture and she definatly would not be the one to smile and greet other customers. Judy on the other hand may hold her head high and have a smile on her face everyday because she has the better self image.
I think that the difference would be that Barbara would be late all the time; find excuses for not wanting to work; not a “happy camper” so to speek. Judy on the other hand, is always early, eager to work and wants to be there. Judy would be the one to smile and greet everyone. Barbara most likely would be a slow paced person.
Differences that I would see in work methods would include: the more confident one would be more likely to do their work quicker than the other lacking the confidence, confidence might entail asking other co-workers for input or advice, where as no confidence would moe likely result in keeping to one’s self. Confidence allows a person to make eye contact versus staring at the ground when greeting someone or speaking to them. Confidence also allows discussion amongst others instead of sitting quietly alone. Smiling at people as you pass them and making eye contact, as I stated previously, is definate signs of self confidence.
Barbara would be more likely to advance in work and social life. She would be the one to greet people and express herself in the work place. Judy would be more quit and less likly to express herself and speack her mind.

The main difference will be their reliability. Barbara may not be as dedicated to the job as Judy because she doesn’t think she has much to offer. This problem will drastically affect her job as well as her personal life. She also may not be as customer friendly as Judy because her mood is so negative. A poor self-image is visible to others and customers will seek Judy’s assistance.
Barbara poor soul has a very poor self image of her self would not be the one to smile she would be the one in the corner that would keep to her self. Judy on the other hand the one with the high self image of her self would smile and be more on the friendly side. If I was a customer at their place of work I would want some one up beat and customer friendly to wait on me. Their main diffrence would be that they would have a diffrent out look and diffrent opion on the way they deal with people.
Barbara self image would reflect on her job because she would not be able to look people in the eye and would have a bad attitaude towards herself and people would think that her attitude was meant towards them. Judy on the other hand would do great with her positive self image she would be able to look people in the face with a smile, She would have a better perseptive on the customer relation interaction.
I personally don’t judge someone on their self image, because one never knows what is going on inside that person or what is going on in their lives. i don’t always smile a lot, but does that make me a bad person? In my younger days I didn’t always smile a lot, and I could out work a lot of people. As far as Barbara and Judy, if i needed womeone who smiled a lot in public view, then I would put her there, and I would find a place for the other one.
Barbara’s self image may cause her to not care about her work; therefor her work may not be as productive as it should be. She may not want to be a team player. Barbara may not care how she dresses for work. This could cause her to not receive a promotion. Judy would be more likely to smile, and have a better attitude about work. Judy may be a team player, and dress according to her dress code. Judy would be the one to more likely receive a promotion.
If i was the owner i would team them up. i would try to boost Barbaras image by leting them work together. If she didnt improve i would have to let her go.
Barbara may have a inappropriate appearance and unpleasant disposition towards her job and her customers. Judy would be more likely to present herself in a professional manner.
