well i work at ingles and the productivity line for me is that i have to scan all the groceries according to its food groups, that way in order to bag them up they will already be in order for me to bag and you must put the heavy stuff on bottom and soft stuff on top. Those are my directions for work and sometimes i am in a hurry and i will not care how it is bagged and then the negativity comes in and that would be the customer yelling at me. And thereofore my productivity is slowed down becuase i am having to redo the whole thing.

Well in my case where I work at, if you don’t get your half of the job done than you will make it harder on the other workers, they will have to take up your part of the slack. With this in mind productivity will be brought down to a minimum and if its not on the shelves or in the racks people will not buy it, making no product meaning money. This will have a negative impact on the emplyees and employer. Yes, productivity is impacted a lot because if we don’t have what the people want they want buy nothing.

  3.    Michael Gramling:

Neglecting to follow directions in an auto shop is a great way to get unhappy customers. If something leaks or makes a noise because you didn’t take the time to do it properly, the customer will ask for free repairs. The customer will most likely win the argument, and valuable time and money is lost. It’s always a good idea to carefully look at directions.

I ordered pizza for my family this weekend. I arrived to find that our pizzas had been given to another customer. I was asked to wait an additional twelve minutes and told that it would be brought to my car. Twenty-five minutes later, I went into the restaurant. My pizzas were sitting in the warmer! I got angry; this restaurant lost my business because of their lack of productivity!

Where i work at you dont get to go home tell you get the job done. When you start the job you better make sure you can finish it. I work for a car detailer. you cant have a car more then a day.( most ot the time.)

In the experiences that I have had a work, not following directions could get someone either killed or seriously injured. Whichever one happens would have a major impact on productivity, because there would most likely be a loss of time due to an investigation. An inquiry into what happened to cause this episode that got this person to get injured or even killed. Also what could be done to prevent something like this from happening again.

  7.    Zack Brown:

I work in a retail store, and not following directions can impact the productivity of the entire store. If a customer asks for something, an employee must respond in a timely manner or risk losing that customers business.

  8.    Lacey Nelson:

well when i’m at work and someone falls behind then it throws us all off course. We have to wait for them to catch up in order to move on with something else.

  9.    Kim:

In my past experiences when you don’t follow directions you could get wrote up and get into bad trouble. They told me not to open the back door without the code and I did and a alarm went off and lets just say it was not good i got into trouble and it was a negative impact. Producitivty was impacted because people were laughing and thought something was wrong and were throwing there things down and trying to get out of the store.

When i was at work, I did’nt fallow the directions how to open a box with a fork-lift, and i crushed the box. The box was broken. I larned how to use the fork-lift, and now i use it the right way.

  11.    Bethany Daniel:

Not following directions can impact a lot of things. If you don’t listen than you have no clue what do do or how to do it. Which can cause problems at work, school, etc.

  12.    Nancy Eggersdorf:

I was a manager at a fast food restaurant, and trained the new employees to prepare the food. One employee didn’t follow my directions. It had a negative impact because he burned the food, and it then had to be thrown away.

  13.    Evelyn:

I drive a school bus. We have cb radios on our buses in order to speak to the other drivers. When you go past Barrett Parkway you have to change the channel on the cb, because you are out of range from the main tower. One driver did not do this. She was separated from us in Atlanta, and did not know her way to the Fox Theater. Since she did not change her cb channel we could not reach her. She was late getting the children to the Fox. Because she did not follow directions, the children missed about 15 minutes of the show.

  14.    Robert Bryant:

When i dont pay attention to my job it makes the whole line mess up and get behind. its not a good impact on the group if someone messes up. productivity is impacted because it got everybody off track and time is money.

  15.    Cheri German:

At my job as a cashier/waitress if the directions of not dropping fries when it gets the lunch hour; and I have asked them the dropped fries; and they don’t, we have had to parked customers; which makes them upset. It would never have happenned if they [cooks} had listened to me. Our drive thru times would have been alot better; and the customer happy. Needless to say this was negative impact. This productivity was impacted in the way that it made the customer unhappy, and our drive thru times way off. Especially when we’re in competition with the other resturuants in our district. Trip to Maui, simply with production like that is slowly slipping away.

  16.    Darlene Beckworth:

I work for a digital satellite communication company. We had an episode where the accounts payable person did not pay the electric bill in time. The power to the building was disconnected.
Not a good thing for my company. It impacted our customers which are T.V. station and stopped productivity all together. Needless to say it’s was a negative impact. The V.P. were not happy

  17.    Christy Dodd:

Job productivity has a lot to do with the job that I have. If you dont follow directions and precautions the clients can really get hurt. If you do not follow through with the care insructions you could loose your job.

  18.    Brittney Jenks:

Following directions is a very important skill that employers, teachers, doctors, or just about anyone in general expect to see in others that they interact with. Not following directions can have many different effects on productivity. Employers expect employees to follow directions to get tasks completed in order to run a successful business. Teachers expect students to follow directions so that learning is more easily attainable. Doctors also anticipate that patients will be cooperative and follow directions as far as wound care, taking medications, etc. If doctor’s orders are not followed, healing may be delayed or in some severe cases, never reached. Following directions plays a major role in productivity for all people in some way or another.

  19.    James Walden:

The piece of equipment that I use at work is called a stretcher, their are two types, a 350 ton and 1500 ton. When stretching different types of aluminum extrusions with different types of surfaces, one must use the correct blocks in order to get a good stretch. One time I didn’t and broke the 1500 ton stretcher, needless to say managment wasn’t pleased, as it was down for two weeks afterwards.

  20.    Brittnay Heaton:

When I worked in the dentist office you always needed to make sure things are on track and running smoothly. If you don’t keep up with the schedule you can clause people to be late for other appointments. In doing so clause you to be late also in getting home.

  21.    Chris Harbin:

    1. By not following directions you may skip valuable step to complete a procedure.

    2. This would create a negative impact.

    3. In many cases the procedure would have to be reversed and redone correctly;costing time and money.

  22.    Sam Reeves:

Not installing spark plug wires in the correct position simply will not work. This is a counter productive situation and it will cost you time and money.
