Work Ethics Posting #922

Good teams within any organization usually have similar qualities. One of the best ways for you to develop good leadership skills is to identify the skills of leaders around you. Evaluate some people you know who are supervisors or managers. Determine whether they are good leaders or just bosses. In thirty-five words or less, answer the following questions:

(1). What qualities define good leadership?

(2). What is the difference between a good leader and a boss?

(3). What is the role of leadership in society?

my dad is a supervisor and i know that he shows good leadership skills by taking the iniciative to help others when they ask for his help, he also steps in from time to time to see if everything is runnung smoothly.
A good leader can be a temporary thing and a good boss should be able to show strengths and weaknesses and help everybody out when needed. I know that my boss helps me out when i need it and but he does not act like a leader and controls every little thing, he doesnt say follow me im the leader, no hes just there to help us out.
Everyone should be a leader and follow by their own rules.

  2.    Michael Gramling:

A good leader will express ideas in a way that is easily interpreted. He will show concern for anything or anyone who is related to his cause, be it business, political, or spiritual. There is a difference between a leader and a boss however. A boss can be known to give orders without care of feelings, and he is not likely to value the growth of his employees. He believes he should be feared and followed without question. Today, leaders are those who run our governments and make decisions for us. Luckily, they must rely on our vote to do so.

  3.    Wendy Parker:

A good leader is someone who can motivate others by example. A boss is a person who does exactly that, bosses! This attitude may lead others to feel resentful. Leaders are needed in every aspect of our society to enable others to strive for their best.

  4.    Jason Deppa:

A leader is someone how needs to do just that lead. the workers need to be able to come to them with their issues. A leader explains what you ahould do and a boss tells you what to do. In society the prez is the leader and us as citizens should respect him as our leader.

  5.    Zack Brown:

The difference between a good leader and a boss is that a leader will not tell you to do something that they would not do themselves. A boss is someone who likes to abuse their authority.

  6.    Vince:

A good leader knows the job or whatever the case may be well. He will also lend a helping hand when it is needed. Most of the time will ask for something instead of take. A boss is just that, a boss, demands that you do something, with hesitation, and most of the time has an attitude.

A leader should know how to handle any problem. A leader and a boss should help when it is needed. To work harder than anybody and do the right thing necessary for the job.

  8.    Robert Bryant:

A leader should know how to handle any problem. A leader and a boss should help when it is needed. To work harder than anybody and do the right thing necessary for the job.

A leader is someone you canlook up to. A leader is someone you can ask important question and feel good about the answer they give you. The difference between a boss and leader is the leader takes care of the smaller things and the boss takes care of the more important bigger things.

  10.    Lacey Nelson:

A boss is a good leader and shows you how to do things correctly. They are people who you can rely on and look up too. Atleast thats the way my bosses are.

  11.    Kim Griggs:

Good leadership is when they talk to you explain things to you give you examples do it and let you watch them having a postive attiude. Making sure you understand what you are doing and not blowing you off to go and do something else getting other people to help you out. A good leader will be there for you when you need a help. A boss would send somebody else to help you and tell them what they are doing wrong and not tell them why just being a boss. A role would be somebody you can trust and look up too.

  12.    Jeremy Foster:

A good leader is someone you respect and shows respect back. They also push you in the right area. A boss just directs there ideas on to you, pushing you in that direction they choose.

  13.    Cheri German:

Good leadership to me means that you know the job fronts backwards and in between. When a situation arises a good leader knows how to handle it, and to remain calm. Work it out in the best interst in all the people involed. The difference between a boss and a good leader; a leader takes the initiate to take the idea to the boss; and the lead the team to production. The boss just in my opion just supervises how well the job is going; and the leader just does like the title, leads.

  14.    Christy Dodd:

A good leader should set positive examples for the people that work under them. For example showing up for work on time, handling things with a positive attitude. godd attendance is a must so the employees can see that you are depandable and so you can stay on top of things at your work place. A boss is someone who does not care if they are in a good mood or if they give positive feedback for a job well done. They never seem to care about the job they have let alone the one that you are doing.

  15.    Brittney Jenks:

All leaders have some of the same qualities. Leadership is characterized by good listeners, problem solvers, and those who have good organization skills. A good leader may possess these traits and others. There are many differences between leaders and bosses. A leader would have the traits listed above. A boss may seem to have some of the same traits but in reality, these traits are masking the desire for power or authority. Leadership plays a role in today’s society every where you look. The government is an example of a massive group we hope to be good leaders. If leaders did not exist, we would not have businesses, schools, a government or a practical life.
